Updated odds: We are slowly but surely moving along the Road to the Kentucky Derby, with new horses entering the future betting pool, while other cement and improve their position. Let’s take a look at some of the changes to the Kentucky Derby odds at JazzSports.ag
Concert Tour 75/1 to 20/1
Concert Tour lived up to the hype in his first race at Santa Anita, leading from the off and breezing to a 3 ½ length uncontested win.
Bezos 80/1 to 25/1
The fact that this horse is seeing his odds shorten despite not yet running in a race tells you all that you need to know about this colt out of Empire Maker and A.P. Indy. Expect to see him get his first start soon.
Proxy 125/1 to 65/1
Proxy got off to a rocky start at the Lecomte Stakes, one of the prep races in the Road to the Kentucky Derby, but finished strong to come in second behind Midnight Bourbon. He will be tackling longer distances in upcoming races.
Candy Man Rocket Not on List to 75/1
Candy Man Rocket put in a much better showing in his second race, breaking his maiden over 6 furlongs at Gulfstream Park a couple of weeks ago. It seems that the sloppy track in his first race may not have been to his liking.
Martini Blu Not on List to 125/1
Martini Blu sprung the upset to get the win over Dream Keeper in his first start at Hawthorne Park. He is now at Oaklawn and will run in the Smarty Jones Stakes, a Derby prep race on opening day this Friday.
Pregame Not listed to 125/1
Pregame finished 3rd in his first race at Churchill Downs back in November, which is not at al bad when you consider that he started the race at 15/1.
Moonlight Strike Not listed to 150/1
We will next see Moonlight Strike at the Smarty Jones this Friday at Oaklawn. He made the betting list after winning consecutive races at Gulfstream Park and will almost certainly see his odds shorten if he turns in a good performance this weekend.
