HORSE RACING RESULTS: GULFSTREAM STAKES RACES, DEC. 12

We are on the path to the Kentucky Derby right now, and while there were no stakes races counting as qualifiers this past weekend, there were still plenty of bid races on the calendar. We are turning out attention to the horse racing results out of Gulfstream Park this past Saturday, where there were five stakes races to pay attention to. Let’s take a closer look at the results from those races.

**Before we continue; take a look at some of the horse racing cards and betting odds currently available at classic online racebook JAZZSports.ag

Race 4 Rampart Stakes (G3)

There were no surprising horse racing results to be found in the first big race of the day. It was the favorite, Letruska, with a powerful performance, winning by 3 lengths. The favorite paid $5.00 for the win, with Dream Marie and Bajan Girl rounding out the top three. No big payouts to speak of in this race.

Race 6 Sugar Swirl Stakes (G3)

We certainly had a bit of an upset in this race, with Lady’s Island hanging on to win at 9/2 odds. Longshot Bronx Bunny just missed coming down the stretch, while Cinnabunny, who started the race as the favorite, came in 3rd. Some nice payouts in this one. The $1 exacta paid $26.70, while the $1 trifecta paid $83.60.

Race 8 My Charmer Stakes

This race delivered a serious upset, not to mention a nice return for bettors who got it right. Niko’s Dream made a big move coming home to take the win at 14/1, paying $29.20 for the win. Tuned got up to finish 2nd, with Art of Almost rounding out the top three. The $1 exacta paid $77.90, with the $1 trifecta paying $305.60.

Race 9 Harlan’s Holiday Stakes (G3)

There were a trio of horses starting this one around 2/1, and we had two of those horses land in the top three. It was Tax who pulled away for the comfortable win, paying $6.60. Eyes of a Jedi finished 4 ½ lengths back, with Phat Man in 3rd. The $1 exacta paid out $30.70, while the trifecta paid $81.80.

Race 10 Ft. Lauderdale Stakes (G2)

The biggest surprises and payouts of the day came in the final stakes race on Saturday. Largent drove home late, paying $35.80 for the win. It was a pair of longshots who rounded out the top three, with Doswell and Breaking the Rules taking 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The $1 exacta paid $223.50, while the trifecta paid a whopping $1,889.40.
