Horse Racing Results – Graded Stakes Results Week Ending Jan. 17, 2021
It was a busy horse racing weekend in the horse racing world, with no less than 6 graded stakes races taking place. That included a trio of races in Japan, as well as a race that counted towards the Road to the Kentucky Derby. We are going to take a look at the horse racing weekend results for all 6 of those races, and we hoped that you cashed a few winning tickets at JazzSports.ag.
Saturday
Fair Grounds Race 10 – Louisiana Stakes (G3) 1 1/16 Mile Dirt – $125,000
A field of 7 took to the dirt for this one, and while the favorite got in the money, it was a horse at longer odds that got the win. Title Ready won by close to 2 lengths and paid $13.00 for the win, beating out Blackberry Wine and Wells Bayou, who started as the race favorite.
Fair Grounds Race 13 – Lecomte Stakes (G3) 1 1/16 Mile Dirt – $200,000
Surprise horse racing results are not uncommon on the Road to the Kentucky Derby, and we got one here. Odds on favorite Mandaloun could only manage a 3rd place finish, with Midnight Bourbon getting the win and paying $9.40.
Chukyo Race 11 – Aichi Hai (G3) 1 ¼ Mile Turf – $737,000
This one proved to be a thrilling race, with longshot Magic Castle holding on to win by a neck over Rambling Alley. Those two were 3 lengths ahead of Uranus Charm, who finished in 3rd.
Sunday
Nakayama Race 11 – Keisei Hai (G3) 1 ¼ Turf – $780,000
There were no surprise horse racing results to be found here, as favorite Gratias romped to a 3-length win over Time to Heaven, who started at 7/2. They both finished ahead of longshot Ten Bagger, who took 3rd.
Chukyo Race 11 – Nikkei Shinshun Hai (G2) 13F Turf – $1,137,000
It was a huge upset day in this race, with a massive longshot taking the win, while race favorite, Admire Virgo, finishing way back in 10th. It was Shoryu Ikuzo who took the win at 18/1, with 98/1 longshot Miss Mamma Mia coming in 2nd.
Santa Anita Race Race 7 – Astra Stakes (G3) 1 ½ Turf – $100,000
Another race where the favorite got up to the win, with Quick, winning by a nose over Hermaphrodite. The winner paid $5.80 and triggered a $12.30 exacta ($1).
